Immersive exhibitions are on the rise, and now it is the turn of the marine ecosystem to receive its own. A “dive” is the proposal of the exhibition Oceano Sem Fronteiras (Ocean Without Borders), open for visitation until December 11th, at the Aquário Marinho do Rio, AquaRio. The show proposes reflections on the importance of ensuring a healthy relationship with the seas.

Through projections, the public will be able to visit the bottom of the sea and interact with marine beings. In 170 square meters, they will also find maps and panels with content about the importance of conserving the biodiversity of the oceans.
Oceano Sem Fronteiras offers information about the ocean economy, the Brazilian coastline, the relationship between humans and the sea, and also warns about problems that affect biodiversity. Visitors can learn about the consequences of predatory fishing and the accumulation of plastic in the oceans, for example.

The exhibition takes place within the Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development, which began in 2021 and runs until 2030. Proposed by the United Nations (UN), the initiative aims to raise awareness around the world about the importance of oceans and mobilize public and private actors and civil society to promote actions that favor the sustainability of the seas.

Visits are from 9am to 5pm during the week, and from 9am to 6pm on weekends. Tickets, starting at R$ 10, can be purchased here
