Official inflation up to 0.64% in September
Brazil’s National Broad Consumer Price Index (IPCA), which gauges the country’s official inflation, was at 0.64 percent in September this year, a rate above the 0.24 percent observed in March.
In September 2019, the IPCA experienced 0.04 percent deflation.
This is the highest rate for September since 2003 (0.78%). The figure brings the IPCA to 1.34 percent year to date and to 3.14 percent in 12-months, the survey reports.
The figures were published in Rio de Janeiro today (Oct. 9) by the government’s statistics agency IBGE.
