With this achievement, Brazil now has a total of 157 places in the Paris Games. This number could increase as the ISA Games men’s competition continues, with Brazil still in the running to secure a third spot. Filipe Toledo and João Chianca have already won two spots.

On Thursday (29), in the main bracket, three-time world champion Gabriel Medina advanced to the next round, with the best score of the day (8.67) in Arecibo. Yago Dora didn’t do well and fell to a playoff. Two-time world champion Filipe Toledo, on the other hand, excelled on the waves of Margara Reef in the playoff, advancing with a score of 13.70.

The World Surfing Games, the final competition awarding places for Paris 2024, will continue until Sunday (3). The team competition features representatives from over 50 countries.
