Basketball: Brazil faces Uruguay in the quarterfinals of AmeriCup

The Brazilian team returns to court today (Sep.5) for the quarterfinals of the Copa America men’s basketball – AmeriCup, and plays against Uruguay at 8:10 pm (Brasília time).

On Friday (Sep. 2) Brazil defeated Canada 72-63, and on Saturday night (Sep.3) the team showed again a good performance by beating Colombia by 100-60, at the Geraldao Arena, in Recife, Pernambuco state.

As a consequence of these two wins, the men’s team is now leading Group A. Moreover, it has confirmed the national team’s participation in the quarterfinals of the competition.

The highlights of the game were Yago and Lucas Dias, who scored 14 points each.
