Brazil saw two representatives step up the podium of the first stop of the World Street Skateboarding League, in Jacksonville, Florida—Rayssa Leal and Pamela Rosa.

An Olympic medalist in the Tokyo Games, Rayssa was below Japan’s Yumeka Oda on the scoreboard, but in the last run she pulled off a radical maneuver—the heelflip rockslide—and secured the title with a total of 23.2, 0.2 ahead of Yumeka.

Pamela Rosa, the current world champion, had her score canceled in the first round of maneuvers but still got on the podium in third place, with 17.6. The fourth Brazilian to compete in the final was Gabriella Mazzeto, who finished seventh.

In the fight for the men’s title, Felipe Gustavo was the only Brazilian in the final. He finished in eighth place (8.9). The winner was Japanese Yuto Horigone (28.1).

The next stage of the World Street Skateboarding League will also take place in the US, in Seattle, on August 13 and 14.

The grand finale of the World Street Skateboarding League is scheduled to be held in the Olympic Park in Rio de Janeiro, on November 5 and 6.
