The IPCA is up 5.49 percent year-to-date. For the twelve-month period, the rate is up 11.89 percent, therefore above May´s 11.73 percent.

All nine groups of expenses registered inflation in June, especially food and beverages, with a price increase of 0.80 percent. Among the items with the highest increase are meals (0.95%) and snacks (2.21%) eaten away from home.

“Like other services that had restrained demand during the pandemic, a demand resumption of meals eaten away from home has been registered, what reflected in their prices,” said research manager Pedro Kislanov.
