Brazil totals 5,169,389 confirmed cases of COVID-19

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Brazil has reported 5,169,389 confirmed cases of the disease. Of these, 89 percent have recovered, and 2.9 percent have passed away. The number of positive diagnoses of COVID-19 was up 28,523 in 24 hours, as disclosed by the Ministry of Health on Thursday (Oct. 15).

The amount of recovered patients stands at 4,599,446. There are also 417,480 Brazilians being treated.

Brazil also registered 713 deaths in 24 hours, thus raising the death toll to 152,460. Another 1,360 are being investigated.
