COVID-19: Brazil reports 610 deaths, 23.9 thousand cases in 24h

In 24 hours, Brazilian health authorities registered 610 deaths and 23,976 new cases of COVID-19. The data come from the daily update released by the country’s Health Ministry on Wednesday (Nov. 4).

With the new fatal cases confirmed, the amount of deaths caused by the pandemic of the novel coronavirus has reached 161,106. There are also 2,295 deaths under investigation.

The total case tally currently stands at 5,590,025, new cases included.

The report also includes 364,575 patients being monitored and 5,064,344 patients who have recovered from the disease, which accounts for 90.6 percent of the total of people infected.

COVID-19 across the states

São Paulo (39,549), Rio de Janeiro (20,759), Ceará (9,370), Minas Gerais (9,069) and Pernambuco (8,667) are the states with the highest death tolls. Those with the lowest number of deaths are Roraima (693), Acre (696), Amapá (751), Tocantins (1,105), and Rondônia (1,464).
