COVID-19: Brazil has 42.8 thousand new cases, 964 new deaths

A report published by the Health Ministry on Tuesday (Nov. 15) shows that 42,889 new infections with COVID-19 and 964 deaths form the disease were reported across the country in 24 hours.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 6,970,034 people have been infected with the novel coronavirus. The caseload may reach 7 million still this week, should the current pace continue.

With nearly a thousand new deaths from COVID-19 confirmed, the total death toll has reached 182,79. There are also 2,394 deaths under investigation.

There are 719,373 patients being monitored. In all, 6,067,862 people have recovered from the disease.

States

The list with states with the highest death toll for COVID-19 is topped by São Paulo  (44,282), Rio de Janeiro (23,887), Minas Gerais (10,719), Ceará (9,802), and Pernambuco (9,324).
