COVID-19: Brazil has 6.92 mi cases and 181.8 thousand deaths

The total COVID-19 case tally since the beginning of the pandemic has reached 6,926,145. In 24 hours, 25,193 new positive diagnoses for the disease were confirmed, as per the figures released by the Ministry of Health on Monday (Dec. 14). The update combines data provided by state health secretariats countrywide.

Thus far, the pandemic has claimed 181,835 lives. From Sunday to Monday, 433 new deaths were added to the count. There are also 2,389 fatalities under investigation.

Also according to report, 6,016,085 people have recovered from the disease. There are 729,225 patients being monitored.

States

The list with Brazilian states with the highest death toll for COVID-19 is headed by São Paulo (44,005), Rio de Janeiro (23,740), Minas Gerais (10,711), Ceará (9,786), and Pernambuco (9,299).

Those with the lowest amount of deaths from the disease are Acre (753), Roraima (755), Amapá (854), Tocantins (1,203), and Rondônia (1,645).
