Brazil reports 181,4 thousand deaths, 6.9 mi cases of COVID-19

The number of people in Brazil infected with the novel coronavirus during the pandemic has exceeded the 6.9 million mark. In the last 24 hours, health authorities notified 21,825 new positive diagnoses for COVID-19, taking the case tally to 6,901,952. The figures came out Sunday (Dec. 13).

Also according to the update by the Health Ministry, deaths from COVID-19 have totaled 181,402. In 24 hours, 279 deaths were registered. Yesterday, the death count read 181,123.

The report also showed 737,597 patients being monitored and another 5,982,953 who have recovered from the disease.

The states with the highest death tolls are São Paulo (44,018), Rio de Janeiro (23,722), Minas Gerais (10,701), Ceará (9,784), and Pernambuco (9,284).

Those with the lowest amount of fatalities are Acre (750), Roraima (755), Amapá (849), Tocantins (1,201), and Rondônia (1,642).
