COVID-19: Brazil has had 6.6 mi cases, 176.9 thousand deaths

The figures updated Sunday (Dec. 6) by Brazil’s Ministry of Health show that the country’s COVID-19 case tally now stands at 6,603,540, with 26,363 having been confirmed in the previous 24 hours.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 176,941 people have died as a result of COVID-19 in the country. From Saturday (5) to Sunday. 313 deaths were reported.

The document combines the data sent through by state health secretariats countrywide. At the weekend, figures tend to be lower due to the difficulties facing local agents feeding the database.

The report also shows that 5,776,182 people have recovered from the disease. Another 650,417 are being monitored.

Regions

The list of regions with the highest case count for COVID-19 is headed by the Southeast (2,300,365), followed by the Northeast (1,682,465), the South (1,046,733), the North (787,440), and the Central-West (786,527).
