As of today (Nov. 25), the use of face masks is again mandatory on airplanes, in airports, means of transportation, and other establishments located in terminal areas.

The decision was taken by Brazil’s national drug regulator Anvisa earlier this week, aiming to reduce the risk of contagion from COVID -19, due to the significant increase in cases of the disease in recent weeks.

According to Anvisa’s decision, the possibility of onboard services on national flights is maintained. Thus, it will be allowed to remove the mask when eating and drinking inside the aircraft, as well as in food courts or areas intended exclusively for meals in terminals and other airport environments.

Masks must be worn properly on the face, covering the nose, chin, and mouth, minimizing gaps that allow air and respiratory droplets to enter or exit.
