Oil production under sharing regime totals 486 thousand barrels

The average oil production of the four contracts in the sharing regime reached in April this year 486 thousand barrels of oil per day (bpd), an increase of 3 percent compared to the previous month. The data were released on Monday (Jun. 13) by Pre-Salt Oil PPSA.

The field that produced the most oil in the period was Búzios, located in the Santos Basin, with 429 thousand bpd. The remainder was produced by Campo de Mero (44 thousand bpd), Entorno de Sapinhoá (8 thousand bpd), and Tartaruga Verde Sudoeste (4 thousand bpd).

Also in April, the Brazilian government was entitled to a portion of 18,800 bpd of total daily production, called the Government´s Oil Surplus, provided for in the contracts for a sharing regime.

PPSA reported that, since the beginning of the historical series of the sharing regime in 2017, the accumulated production corresponds to 167 million barrels of oil. Up to April of this year, the government’s accumulated share of oil stood at 14 million barrels of oil.

PPSA manages production sharing contracts, oil, and natural gas commercialization, and represents the government in production individualization agreements.
