Brazil approves three new tests for COVID-19

Brazil’s national sanitary agency Anvisa on Monday (Mar. 23) approved three new tests to detect the new coronavirus, bringing the number of approved tests to 11.

Of the new products approved, two are highly accurate PCR-type molecular essays. The third is a new quick test that detects antibodies using a small blood sample.

Of the 11 tests approved so far in Brazil, nine are quick, with results coming out in around 15 minutes, and two are molecular.
